This was really a minimalist project in terms of tools. Pretty much the only power tools I used were a small (junky) table saw, jig saw, miter chop saw, table router, and a DA sander from my car bodywork days. I took the lower seat slats to a buddy's to run through his planer. My wife loves it and it is very comfortable for two of us to sit on. I tell you all this just to show that this project does not need a full-on woodshop for good results. The only screws visible are the carriage bolts; any other screw had the counterbores filled with dowels then sanded smooth prior to stain. I just picked up a band saw last night so I'm itching to get going on my next one!

Excellent plans. I used your design because of the limited space I had between the two trees to hang the swing. It worked out brilliantly. I used mahogany, maple, oak and pine to build the 6ft Plantation. I finished it off with a quart of marine grade varnish ($45.00). Friends and neighbor alike love using the swing, often falling asleep while listening to the waves lap up on to the shore. I am glad I was able to find your design. Thank you.

Over the years, I've tried many different swing stand styles...never found one I was completely happy with. Either too complex to build or not strong enough. I ran across the A-frame swing stand plans on this website and decided to give them a try. Several years and roughly 100 swing stands later...I'm still very happy and have made no modifications to the original plans. I've not had a single complaint from any of my customers!
Thanks for an easy to build, yet very sturdy A-frame stand!

I was looking for a swing design that would blend in and complement my existing wood deck and when I found your web site and seen the plantation swing, I immediately knew this was the swing I wanted to build.
I purchased your plans and found them to be very detailed and they provided me with all the necessary material information that I have found lacking in plans I have purchased from other sources.
I am very pleased with the end result and have received many compliments on our new swing and arbor. If I am ever in the need for additional plans, I will not hesitate to purchase from your company.
Thank So Much,

This was my first and second built of this plan. I have built another one that is stained. This is a very good plan easy to build, One was for my new grandbaby. I plan to do more.

The plans were purchased mid-November, 2008 and the swing was built over this winter. This was my first woodworking project and I found the plans to be quite comprehensive. I was a little intimidated at first with the details but I quickly caught on and was very appreciative of the attention to specific detail. The swing is currently getting plenty of use and is very comfortable to sit on.

I recently completed building your Paul Vincent Swing as well as your A-Frame structure. I wanted to let you know how easy your plans were to follow and how much I absolutely love my new swing! Up until the time I began making the swing, I had at best minimal carpentry skills (just my 6th grade industrial arts training).
As an avid rocker, I thought an outdoor swing would be a great addition to my home, so I began searching the web for the "perfect swing". Once I overcame my initial shock at how much porch swings cost, I decided I could build one cheaper than I could purchase one. That's when I came across your site, so I opted to order the Paul Vincent Swing plan and went out and bought some power tools. A year later, I finally have my swing complete with a frame to hang it from. (and quite the little workshop going on in my cellar!) Nothing I could have bought can compare to the satisfaction of owning a beautifully designed swing that I made with my own two hands! I had no problems following the instructions, with the exception of having to learn some new terminology. I think the design of the swing is top quality and the finished product is absolutely gorgeous.

Hello,
I wanted to let you know how much we like your a frame design.
I could not find anything even close to this for sale. I'm so glad I found your site.
It's strong and looks great. I added a shelf for drinks.
Very handy. It took a while to get the angles right. Mine is not great but
a wood worker with more experience could do a better job.
Thanks, Phil Anderson

Hello!
I thought you might enjoy looking at the swing I just finished using your plans. Every one that has seen it really likes it a lot, including my wife and myself. Thanks for the plans

Here are the pictures of our glider swings. I modified and made a single seat to fit my 6'2", 250 lb frame. Love the results using your plans and now ordering plans for another project. I called several times for technical help and have been very pleased with the assistance and guidance to get me through my projects with great results. I would recommend you to anyone interested in trying your services. I don't believe anyone in the woodworking business could satisfy me as you have and I look forward to my next project.

The swing is great. I built it for by son and his family. Note the drink holders I made on the sides.

Made one as a gift for our friend's campground. Everyone loved it and wants one too. Made another as a Christmas gift. It's a very comfortable swing.

More than satisfied with your service , your staff
were so helpful. It is a little difficult living in another
Country trying to find what you like, then trying to execute
The project. It is probably not as good a job as what a
Bloke would make but I enjoyed making the swing and making sure I sit
In it everyday.
